So, BE DARING! or not, and try a small amount of pink.

You can be like my granddaughter – a bit unexpected. She’s pretty in pink but cradling a sand rat!

Pink has unexpected qualities. So I encourage you:

Try pink out of the little girl’s room and let it grow up.

Here's 6 ways:

1. ADD BROWN

Pair the bright, lively color of pink with neutral browns, like the sand rat!

Notice in the photo below how the tawny chocolate color pales the presence of the vivid pink. Brown softens the fuchsia into a subtle maturity.

The "masculine" stereotype of rough, rugged brown, tones down the "feminine" stereotype of pink

Use browns found in nature to decrease the belief that pink is for girls only.

2. SIZE MATTERS!

Go big with pink!

The 14”and 16” tall and chunky candlesticks stand bold and proud.

The WIDE base gives them strength and anchors their no-nonsense presence.

Let these powerhouse candlesticks bully right past pink’s stereotype of petite and precious.

3. USE SHAPE TO SOPHISTICATE PINK

An unusual shape gives the dainty color of pink a worldly, uptown look in home decor.

4. PUT PINK WITH CONTEMPORARY.

Nothing says: "grown-up" like the sleek clean lines of modern design

5. MIX METALS WITH PINK

Add the glitz by mixing classic metallic copper, gold, and silver.

Suddenly the pink is seasoned and cultivated!

6. COLOR "POP"

Look closely at prints in fabric. You'll be surprised how touches of this vivid color adds energy to your decor, and sparks joy.

7. COLOR BALANCE

Mix a “cool” color (any shade of blue, green, violet) to contrast the “hot” color of pink.

Back to nature. In the painting below, the beauty of "warm" soft pink is balanced the with "cool" green leaves and blue skies.
