The fluttering birds in the evergreens, pines, and birch trees catch my eye.
 
As I paint this small original of the cardinals flocking together, I'm certain they are not only celebrating the moment but new opportunities. Supportive and strong. The key ingredient of friends.
 
As a kid I was strongly independent trying to out-do my older brother. I was so busy trying to hit the baseball faster, to jump the hurdle higher that I didn’t take time to connect with close friends. Instead I only chased one shiny goal after another, focused on me, myself and I.
 
Sadly I brought this lack of communication into my first marriage and it wasn’t until I chased a crazy dream that unexpectedly found me living alone 1,000 miles from the family did I learn the value of friendship.
 
I’m so fortunate that to this day my family and close friends are my anchor.
 
Let this fleet of cardinals, like your friends, lift you up and refuel you so you can soar.
